Scary, stupid and many other things beginning with "S"

So, tonight Derren Brown, psychological magician, is going to play Russian Roulette live on national TV. A volunteer will load a live bullet into one of the numbered chambers of a revolver, then read out the numbers. Brown will attempt to guess, by means of sub-vocal clues, which chamber the bullet is in. So far, so good, except that he will then fire the gun at his head until he reaches the chamber where he believes the bullet to be, at which point he will fire into the air.

Is it just me, or is this one of the most stupid things ever to appear on TV? Derren Brown is a very clever man, certainly (I've seen him do some tricks that were of the jaw-dropping "That absolutely must be impossible" class) but he must be absolutely 100% certain that he's going to get away with this. It would take just a tiny error of judgement for him to end up with certain parts of his head that were never designed to see daylight being on view to the public at large. I know that I'm certainly not going to watch it...does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Si-"He's not even doing it in this country, due to gun laws"-gi
