But what about the garage, the basement, the attic? Did you find any old motor scooters? A Cushman maybe? Fishing tackle? Old fishing lures bring good prices. Fat-tire bicycles? Schwinn, Western Flyer? Roadmaster? How about ceramics? Some old vases and planters are worth big bucks.
Don't overlook old tools, glass reflectors, rotary telephones (or older), 48 or 49 star US flags AM tube type radios, baseball cards and comic books, or Pez dispensers. Wood or metal toys.

Look in the kitchen. An egg beater or a potato masher with a red or green handle is good for a few dollars. Any cast iron skillets? Tea kettles?

About that record player. If a good clean up won't fix it, look in used furniture stores. Way back in the back you will find a few old record players. About one in three will still work. They are usually cheap because they have been sitting there for years.

And old house can be a goldmine desguised as a dump.
