This made me think. I have seven younger siblings, I should know what toys for 2-year-olds are. But as I thought about it, I realize my family's profoundly weird. My 2-year-old brother plays with... erm... newspapers. He wrestles with them. And with bags of paper towels.

When we want to get him into a really cultured, cute little kid game instead of "tackle the inaniamte object," we tend to throw tennis balls at him and he hits it back with whatever's in his hand. Sometimes it's simply another tennis ball.

*Sigh* Well, it's an improvement over my mother's childhood. She and her sisters played with G.I. Joe chests.
