I have often wondered about that. Do you read everything? If so, you probably have a very high reading rate. I used to teach a reading class everyday, and I found out that reading rates vary wildly, even among 8th graders. I found plenty of average students who read below 100 words per minute, and plenty more that were up around 500. Some people read much faster than that, including my older son who exceeds 800 wpm. My own rate is about 225 to 250 which is below average and expecially low among college-educated people. A high reading rate is a wonderful time-saving gift, and a moderater for a forum like this would almost certainly have to be one of the gifted.
