I guess this is an open letter to politicians and law enforcement types.

Do you want to take a bite out of crime? Would you like to put some criminals out of business, and into the pokey where they belong? Just boot up your computer and check your email. If you get the same stuff that I do, you will have a nice neat list of crooks just waiting to be busted.

In a typical week, I get about 100 scams in my email. In addition to that, I get a couple of dozen viruses. The scam artists are after my money and the virus creeps are out to destroy my computer. I call that stealing and vandalism. Both are against the law.

One virus comes from someone who calls himself Big Boss. He hits my computer at least once a week and recently tried to get in six times in one day.

The spam scams are usually sucker bait. If you will believe just about anything, they will get you. They know that if .01% of the people they attack are going to fall for their con games, they are going to make a lot of money. Fraud is another word for that. Also against the law.

With the proper software, there should be a way to trace these criminals back to their computer, and sooner or later, someone is going to have to do it. The people who fall for this stuff simply cannot afford it. Many are older citizens who remember when you could trust people. Others are just not very smart. Somebody has to protect them. Who will it be?
