Yeah, he is. In the movie, after he retrieves the first of the Sacred Gems, he and the crew are standing around discussing where they ought to go next. "Well, we could try going to the Isle of the Amazon Queen, where another Gem is hidden," Sinbad muses*, and as the camera follows his pointing finger we see that the ship is actually floating a couple hundred yards off that very island. How convenient!
