Well... for some people, perhaps. I didn't really mind the popups in MR, myself, and at least let them start rendering, for a few reasons.

1) The revenue generation, albeit minor.

2) I only have to close the window, whereas with a banner ad, I would have to right-click, Open in New Window, and close that window, and the generators get suspicious when that happens too often, anyway.

3) Hey, maybe one or two will wind up being Alt+Print Scrned and sent to the PHS. :)

And of course, if I couldn't enjoy it, I would've stopped playing some time ago. But I can understand that some people wouldn't be able to stand it.
