Tractor show???

Having nothing else to do today, I went to a tractor and farm engine show. No, I didn't have any tractors, so I stuck a couple of Cushman scooters and two Maytag washing machine engines into the trailer and buzzed down to Sweetwater where they were having their annual show.

It is a family thing. Some families of three or four generationas were there. The kids were riding around in old farm waggons pulled by old tractors a team a big draft horses. Big old-time tractors with new paint and shinny metal parts were lumbering around and the old hit-and-miss farm engines were chugging everywhere, mostly not powering anything. It's kind of like slow music.

Since I was the only one there with motor scooters, I got to talk to a lot of people. I even ran into a couple of my former students.

Also present were Model T and Model A Fords, and a few other antique cars and trucks. One joker had a manure spreader powered by a big V8 engine.

My two 50-year-old scooters were not out of place there. After all, Cushman made farm engines long before they made motor scooters.

The weather was nice and the meet site was big and shady. I think I'll go back next year.
