Didn't stop me.

Storms, floods, falling rock, and RinkWorks forum being down, did not prevent me from posting. I just stored my posts on my computer, and here they are.

8:45 a.m. EDT Monday
I just wrote this little post and when I tried to post it, I found that RinkWorks was down for repairs. So I have copied this to Word and will try to post it later.

I woke up this morning to thunder. The rolling kind. It would start as a low rumble and continue on for 20 seconds to a full minute. I could tell there was a lot of lightning to our west. It was before six AM, but I got up anyway and verified what I already knew via the Weather Channel. Shortly after that, the storms weakened and while there is still thunder, it has become just a steady rain. All day, they say.

My wife wanted to go pick strawberries today, but I guess that is out of the question.

So here is a chance to get some work done. I can't cut that wet grass, so I will head down to the scooter shop and try to wind up some stalled projects. That is, I will if I can ever get loose from this computer.

The forum is still down, but that won't stop me.
I heard from some fellow Cushman collectors who just finished a 5-state ride! They covered over 400 miles and touched five different states riding motor scooters what are about 40 years old or older. Some of them had modern engines in them, but the scooters were all vintage Cushmans. I am planning a four county ride sometime soon (If the rain ever stops.). I recently noticed that about three miles north of my house there is a place where four counties touch. It's like the "Four Corners" area in the Western US where four states come together. But this four counties point is, as far as I know, the only place in Tennessee where four counties come together. A very short scooter ride could pass through Loudon, Knox, Roane, and Anderson Counties. I wonder if anybody has ever done that before? I always use Cushman engines in my scooters. They have 4, 5, 7, and 9 horsepower. I also have a 3.2 hp engine but it isn't in a scooter yet. I really don't like to go fast, so I have no need for a B&S Vanguard like some collectors use in their scooters.

We have had about 6 inches of rain in two days. Other areas around here have had much more, not to mention wind, hail, floods, and tornadoes, so I guess I shouldn't complain, but I am really looking forward to some nice dry weather.

Just a few poll question suggestions:
What kind of soap do you use?
What is your favorite auto accessory?
What is your favorite kind of vacation?
(Beach, mountains, island, city, cruise, cycling, hiking, canoeing etc.)

"This is about as formal as I get." (Often used expression)
When I dress up, I like to wear a tee shirt and jeans. The tee shirt usually has Hard Rock Café on the front, and I often top it off with a Ed Crankshaft style hat. Sometimes when I want to really put on the dog, I wear a shirt with a motor scooter on it.

When I dress down, I wear a pair of walking shorts and a shirt with a collar and a pocket. Dressed up or down, I always wear black SAS shoes.

In cool weather, I go for flannel shirts and hooded sweaters, but if it's cold, I wear a car coat that is almost too bulky to get into a car.

2:20 p.m. same day, Tuesday, I think.
Still no forum. I got so desperate I went to RinkChat and all I got was an error message that said I might have mispelled my name. Naaaaaaaaaaw. I can spell that. I guess when you don't post on chat for a year or two the software forgets your name. I could register again, but I guess I'll just wait for the forum.

Wow!!! The rain stopped! But for how long?

Wednesday 10:44 a.m. Back to real time.
So those are my delayed posts. Still raining.
