Hello good friends! It is now 1:43 in the AM on a cool Saturday morning and I am actually feeling purdy good! I really think I'm about to be over my case of Mono, but what I really wanted to do is tell you about how my girlfriend's prom went.

The night started off well. Went to Megan's and, of course, her whole family is there (including the grandparents) and ready with the cameras. I posed a few times, and did a pose that was pre-requested by Megan. You know, the whole jacket over the shoulder and hand in the pocket deal. Megan herself was in the back, out of sight. (hehe I'll tell you about the corsage incident at the end... I hope i don't forget) Well, she finally comes out and my goodness, she was utterly gorgeous. She wore a strapless dark pink dress with sparkley beads on the front doing a pattern down to about her waist, then poofed out just a little. It was backless and had like 4 straps going across her back.

We take more pictures inside. She pins the flower on me I put the flower on her wrist, we then venture outside for... you guessed it, more pictures. We finally get to leave in her uncle's silver Miata a.k.a. a beer can. But it's nice. We eat, food's ok, waitress is rude, and I paid too much for what I got... you know the drill. Supper: 30 bucks including tip. We then do some more irrevelent stuff (I just really want to get to the prom part).

Ok, we get to the prom. (oh yeah, during supper we realize that only one of the four couples there had their tickets.. us not being that one, but my brother got em and we met him somewhere) We give the lady the tickets: 20 bucks for a couple *not bad*. We then decide to take our pictures first. Pictures: 58 dollars. So we do. We then go downstairs to the prom. I see people I don't know, I get introduced to people that I don't remember getting introduced to, you know... all that good stuff. Finally we get to the floor. We dance for about an hour, but I'm noticing something... the DJ like to talk... you can not understand a SINGLE word he's saying... oh AND he only seems to have Rap and old R&B cd's to play. The ENTIRE hour we were dancing, that's all he played. The first "white" music he plays... "She Hates Me" by Puddle of Mudd... NOT a prom song. I sit down for a good while. Dance some more to some r&b. We then realize that we need to go. Just as soon as we start to.... REAL PROM MUSIC! So we dance a few more times, until "Picture" by Kid Rock comes on... that's ALWAYS my cue to leave. We go home.

Besides the DJ, it was a good time. I met some cool people and I actually felt like doing something. It's odd that I feel so good after everyone has told me that I'll be out for weeks with Mono, and I've already went to a dance and the worse I got was a headache... pretty incredible. I just wanted to share that with the people who were talking about proms earlier.

Oh, about the corsage. Ok, Megan would NEVER tell me ANYTHING about her dress. She would go through extreme measures to keep me from finding out anything about her dress except that it was backless. So, when i asked about color of corsage she tells me to get white cause it goes with anything. So I do, but when I called her I tell her I got a blue one and I hope it's ok. I THOUGHT that I said that I was just kidding, but judging by the huge sigh of relief when I pulled it out of the box, and her comments on it, I didn't say anything about me just kidding. But it was great getting her like that.

Costs (for the people telling how much it cost "back in the day")
Tux: $119
Dress: $150
Food: $30
Tickets: $20
Pictures: $58
Telling the DJ to SHUT UP!.... Priceless.

Total cost: $377

Wedge "Sorry it was long... had a lot to say." Antilles
