story hunt game

I am having an immense amount of trouble
figuring out what the next word is for the Duke
of Gloom. I am currently on chapter 8, and I
cannot find the clue that will lead me to
chapter 9. I'm thinking it has something to do
with this passage:
"To King Thregor's realm, one of the two great
kingdoms where the Arch-Nemeses That
Battle Constantly In Life, Death, And Beyond
come from! To the one few can spell correctly
but you'll have to! I'll hide her there in its vast
metropolis of three buildings where you'll
never find her!"
But I have no idea what this may be a
reference to. I do not wish to be given the
answer, but maybe someone could help and
give me a little push in the right direction.
