I've been through all the posts and beefhead and I am still stuck.

I get "confusing him" before you can do anything, and I've preserved him with the salt water (two buckets full). I keep doing this: confuse-skewer, confuse-spit pattern, but that isn't working. Am I on the completely wrong track? Should I not be spitting at him at all? Or am I missing something:
I'm Carrying:

5 Onions
Silver Key
Sap Tap
Fishing Net
Pliers

Sack
Crown of Destiny
Bucket
Coconut
Iron Support

Small Silver Coin
Float Ring
Cross
Blue Rubber Ball

any help would be appreciated.
