I don't know why a 40 year-old mother of two would want to fly into a war zone, but that is what our younger daughter did. She is a flight attendant for a major airline, and they contracted to fly troops into Turkey. They used an all volunteer flight crew, and she volunteered. They flew from Germany to Turkey with two jet fighters escorting them. That alone, is enough to convince me that it was a dangerous flight. They landed about 100 miles from Iraq.

I think there may be a connection between this and the two friends she lost on flight 93 on 9-11, but I am unsure what the connection is. Maybe it was just her way of striking back at terrorism. Anyway, she should have some interesting stories to tell. The last I heard, she was fogged in at Washington D.C., but she should be home sometime today.
