What's up with the giraffe in FQ2?

onions
2 tree branches
sack
small silver coin
silver key
crown of destiny
float ring
sap tap
bucket of sap
bottle opener
cross
coconut
pliers
iron support
red potion
green potion
sword
rusty key
did have a ladder, now it's in pieces at the rusty gate and my sunstone is in ashes or something.
I cant seem to get past that rascel of a giraffe. In and out of the cave from one end to the other, taunting and standing around. How do I get by?
