Have a look at Shay Caron's "Murkon's Refuge Tables Page" if you get really stuck. Take care, for the site contains some spoilers. But you might find the hints you want.

One other hint: The lift won't get you anywhere on levels 6 or 7. You'll need the stairs. (And level 8 isn't where you want to look - unless you want your party to die futilely.)
