One thing that hasn't been mentioned yet is the concept of "casual Friday." New Zealand with its casual-through-the-week business dress code probably does not have this concept.
I have never worked at an office that observed casual Fridays, and for all I know the trend may be dying out. I have a friend who works for a company that still has them, though. They require business casual dress Monday through Thursday, but on Fridays employees are permitted to dress down. Dressing down usually seems to mean that jeans can be worn, and some companies also allow T-shirts; others still require polo-style shirts.
