And speaking of politics, I just got a post card inviting me to our new governor's inaugralation - inalgaration - enalgeration(I never could spell that.). Yes, I said post card. Most people were invited via the news paper that said everybody was invited. But *I* got a post card. I'm sure there are a few people who got an invitation inside an envelope, but those are probably his family and various fellow politicians. I, however, am just a voter, yet I got a post card. Not very many people can say that. Probably no more than 2 million or so.

Our new governor, by the way, is Phil Bredesen, a man who better be able to work magic. The state is in worse fiscal condition than Wall Street. Tenncare, the state's medical plan is a shambles, the sales taxes are over 9%, the legislature has no guts, and many of the schools have leaky roofs and mold problems which no one has a clue about how to fix. (Holes? Well, yes. School roofs are supposed to have holes aren't they. Mold? What is mold? It couldn't make people sick. Do you think there is a connection between holes in the roof and mold on every thing in the building? Naw. We can just pass a law against mold.)

Anyway, I'm going to put on my SAS shoes, my faded jeans, my new red shirt and head for Nashville to attend the ball. Or I could just go to California. But then California didn't send me a post card.
