Not only that, before we got back, I was working like mad on homework because we had gone to Florida the week before and I had to cram all break's worth of homework into like four days.

Things have changed. When I was teaching, I *never* gave homework during a break. I didn't even assign homework on Fridays. A break should be a break, and if you have assignments, that's no break. But you are not alone. My grandkids have assignments during holidays. It makes me feel like a dinosaur.

On the other hand, I'm astounded at how fast my grandkids are learning.
