I did all the driving on this trip. My wife dislikes driving in general, and despises it even more on a long trip or when she's in unfamliar areas. So I wouldn't ask her to do any of the driving on a trip like this unless I absolutely had to.

One of the reasons for this is that she has almost no sense of direction. My wife gets lost easily. She can usually recover from this without help, but loses a lot of time doing so, and obviously this is Not a Good Thing on a long trip.

This makes her a funny passenger too, though. I never really noticed it before this trip, but every time, and I mean Every Time we came to a place where there were signs for another highway joining the one we were on, or where our road branched off in a different direction, or we had to switch to a new highway, she would tense up and exclaim, "Uh Oh!"

Heh. I started to tease her about it after I notice she was doing it Every Time she saw one those signs. At least she was able to laugh at herself. She's a good sport.

Gri"Uh Oh!"shny
