I just leafed through that section again, and I feel that I should have included what Asimov says Capp's response to this was, which was "But can you prove it in court?" In other words, Asimov is clearly trying to show that Capp wasn't necessarily denying that he was anti-black, he was simply asking if Asimov could prove such a statement to the extent it would require to win a court case.
