I remember the reference, and yes, in his two most important scenes (his appearance in Fangorn forest and his arrival at the battle of Helm's Deep) he does indeed have a big ol' MBF.

He does manage to contribute a bunch of really great scenes in Edoras WITHOUT the MBF, though, so that makes him even more cool.
