I've listened to that song for a lot of years and I think I know how it should sound. I kept thinking about the voice teacher who said to his pupil, "I play on the white keys, I play on the black keys, but you keep singing in the cracks!"

Heh, I read this and was reminded of the Classic Morecambe & Wise sketch. Eric Morecambe was playing Grieg's Piano Concerto (badly) as Andre Previn looked on. Andre Previn walks over and gives him a *look*. Eric falters, stops and then looks at him and asks what's wrong.

Andre Says, "You're playing all the wrong notes!"

Eric sort of looks round and does that "teeth-sucking" intake of breath. He stands up, grabs Andre by the lapels of his tux and pulls him in close.

Eric then says, "I'm playing all the RIGHT notes, but not necessarily in the right order!"

Bea"Grieg's by.. with him and him!"sty
