I've never gotten a book stuck in my head, but I've gotten a single word from a song stuck. It happened like this:

First I had the entire song "American Pie" playing over and over again. This is not that annoying, because it is not a very annoying song. Then my brain decided just to play "In a coat he borrowed from James Dean" over and over instead, which is a lot more annoying. Then it shortened to just "James Dean" playing, and then for an hour or so my brain was just playing "DeanDeanDeanDeanDean" nonstop.
