This is only slightly funny, but unlike most of my stories, it happened.

The first year I taught 7th grade, the kids wanted to go all out decorating for Christmas. So I suggested a nice big Santa Claus for the large bulletin board at the end of the room. We used a slide projector to trace an outline of the old feller on white paper, almost life-sized.
Then we got out the tempra paint, in this case dry powder. Before I knew what had happened they had mixed *all* of the white and red paint in large containers. A few ounces of each would have been enough, but we had half a gallon. We had hardly started when someone stuck a brush full of paint into the white. So we wound up with a Santa wearing a red suit trimmed in pink. He was a hit. I think everybody in the whole school dropped by to see him.
