Carlock is my great uncle (my grandmother, Stella Hill, was his oldest sister). My favorite story about Carlock was when the family was "toppin'" tobacco. All of us youngsters were doing nothing but getting in the way so Carlock took us to this spot and told us it was an old graveyard and if we kept yelling "What ya'll doin' down there?" that the dead would answer "Nothin'!". Well, that kept us occupied for awhile, then the conversation turned to other things. Finally after the "toppin'" was done, Carlock came to pick us up and asked if we had yelled to the dead. When we said "Yeah", Carlock asked "And what did they say?" We said "Nothin'". What a jokester! If Carlock is online, could you please pass on my email address? I would love to correspond with him or his daughters (Lisa is a month older than me).
