While I'm not sure a week would be long enough to do it right, I would like to go north, as far north as possible.

Now this should seem rather strange since I'm not a big winter person at all. I don't like the cold or the dark or the wind or the snow or any of those other things traditionally asociated with the far north.

The reason is partially that it's a mostly alien landscape, entirely different from my experiences to date. Another part of it is a weird kind of patriotism; I want to go north because it's a part of my country, perhaps part of what makes my country what it is, and I haven't seen it. But then, I haven't seen the west coast or the praries either. They are also important pieces of my country and I haven't been there either but I don't feel the same pull to the west as I do to the north. There must be another reason hidden somewhere but I can't think of what it is.

But like I mentioned at the beginning, a week probably isn't long enough to do this right. To really get a sense of the north I would probably have to go live there instead of just visiting.
