TOA: How do I get that mouse?

I've done three of the four Professor quests or whatever.. Now all I have to do is complete Prof. Gingram's thing. I can't seem to catched the mouse. It doesn't like the mouse trap (obviously) and it just keeps running in circles. I even tried to sneak up on it from a different direction, but that didn't work. I have cleared all the junk in the room and have access to all available paths. Just... how do I corner the little bugger?
