It is said that turkey is a very healthy food. I contend that this is because nobody can stand to eat enough to make them sick. I didn't eat any turkey at Thanksgiving this year. I had a small sliver of ham and then lit into the good stuff like cranberries, stuffing, hot rolls, scolloped potatoes, and those big flat Italian green beans. I saw some sweet potatoes down at the other end of the table, but by the time they got to me they were all gone. I also enjoyed three out of four desserts.

Here is how our turkey went:
10% eaten for Thanksgiving dinner
45% taken home by family and friends*
3% eaten the next day by WMM
30% fed to our daughter's dogs
12% in garbage
Except for the bone and fat, all of the left over ham went into sandwiches. Not too much was left over.
Chris went back to the turkey shoot on Friday and won another ham. No, I don't know why they don't call it a ham and turkey shoot.
*Who knows what they did with it.
