> As we all know, the main food ingredient of Thanksgiving is turkey. I was watching an episode of Iron Chef the other day, and they commented that turkey is actually not a good-tasing ingredient, and that its taste usually depends on the sauce. My question is: Who here actually *likes* the way turkey tastes? After all, (and here I quote Iron Chef Roksaburo Michiba) "[Turkey] is just an oversized chicken." Does anyone actually prefer turkey over chicken, flavor-wise? Or do we just do it purely out of tradition?

Well, for me this is a Christmas Question. But roast turkey is something I look forward to at Christmas. Cooked properly, it's tender and just generally delicious.

We had goose one year, which I prefered immensely, but no-one else like the greasyness of it (and, besides, it's far more expensive), so that was just a one off.

But Christmas dinner wouldn't be as good if you just had chicken
