Yes, you heard me right. They DEEP FRIED a WHOLE turkey. And surprisingly, it was the best turkey I've ever had. If you do it right, the oil sears (is that even the right word?) the skin, trapping the moisture in while keeping the oil out. It's amazingly good.

My brother went on an LDS mission to Arkansas and this is how they cooked their Thanksgiving turkey. In fact, they cooked just about everything this way, and while it was darn good food, he came back fifty pounds heavier. He talked my parents into cooking the turkey this year and they did it. I hope he talks them into it next year because, MAN, that was a good turkey.
