Since I am an American currentlyout of the country, this is a perfect question for me to answer. About 99% of the students I am studying with celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday or Wednesday evening (because they were going out of town on Thursday). We had a full Thanksgiving dinner with turkey, sweet potatoes, fruit salad, stuffing, etc. I saw lots of Americans in the supermarket looking for sweet potatoes or pumpkin pie filling, so obviously, other Americans try to put on their own Thanksgiving celebrations as well. I called my family at 4 am this morning, in order to say hello and say "Happy Thanksgiving" to all my relatives. Essentially, it is a time for us to be happy for all the things we have and to spend time with our loved ones.
