Tim Horton played for Toronto, New York, and Buffalo in the 60's. He died in a car crash on a return trip to Buffalo. The first Tim Hortons Was opened in Hamilton, Ont. My husband (who is the hockey person in the family) also thinks that the chain was started by his wife after he died.
