I wish I had never thrown so much stuff away. Everything I owned when I was a kid would be valuable. I may have mentioned this here before, but I would love to have all the cap pistols and toy cars that I played with in the late 30's and early 40's. Somebody stole the BB gun that I had in 1946, I sold my 1946 bicycle, and I don't know what happened to the radio that brought us "war news."

I remember some kids in the neighborhood who took a German army helmet up on the mountain and used it for target practice. One guy in town had a 1944 US Army surplus jeep that gave him so much trouble, he pushed it over a bank into the Kentucky River. All of those old fishing lures that I had between 1947 and 1955 would be worth big bucks now. So would my dad's 1946 Hudson Super Six.

I saw a camera in an antique store recently and it was exactly like the Kodak that my aunt had when she was in college. That was about 1934. The price in the antique store was $90, but in better condition, it would have been much more.

And then there were comic books. Hundreds of them published in the 40's! I wonder where they all went.

But all of that stuff might be like the late 40's fishing reel that my uncle gave me when I was 18. I still have it and wouldn't part with it for any amount of money.
