"Oh, I lost it on some ice and ended up in Lake St. Clair"

So, on Sunday I got a lift across to my mate's house to pilfer his library: he likes the twistier back roads, and Dixie had never experienced them (or his driving) before, so we avoided the massive, straight main road in favour of the blind-corner-heavy route.
You can tell where I'm going with this one.
About 2 miles out of my home town, we took a bend a little wider than we should have, and quite a bit faster than common sense dictates, and as my friend tried to pull back into the left (there was a tight right hand corner ahead, and cars have a habit of speeding round it, naturally) the back end slid out from behind us. Turning the wheels the opposite way (now down to about 50 mph), we overcorrected, skidded the back wheels to the left, oversteered a 2nd time before just giving in and letting the car do a painfully slow 360 spin until it came to rest, facing the right way, on the left hand side of the road (the correct side in the UK). No injuries. Minimal damage to the car.
Notably, my life didn't flash before my eyes - I just braced myself as best as I could and tried to work out which direction the impact was coming from.
My friend excelled himself by controlling the car beautifully - although he was daft enough to get into that situation, he handled it very well.
Dixie, for her part, just went "wheeeeee!"
Bo"still haven't gone into shock yet - looking forward to it."urne
