GOA- Sick and Tired of Pheicryn: Spoilers

For the life of me I don't know what I'm doing wrong battling this thing for a number of hours. I'm socked her with the stone of strengthening and opened the murder hole. I can get her to the edge of the murder hole (and possibly inside it) by using the chain and kicking her. The problem is that I can't get her to stay inside by: kicking, using the chain, or by lowering the porticullis. I always end up on my back or getting torn to shreds. This is REALLY getting frustrating.
Does anyone have the specific sequence for getting past this part???? I've checked the other posts but to no avail. I'd really like to get on to other parts of the game as this part is no longer fun. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
