I almost got to shake the hand of the first President Bush, when he came to visit my school in Holland - my school was a major focal point of the American expatriate community in Holland, so it was a good place for a President to come.

Of course, since I was in fourth grade, I didn't really pay that much attention to the speech, but I thought it was cool enough until one of the boys behind me tried to throw a paper plane at the President and then tried to frame me for it.
