I went on a Holland America cruise once, in summer of 1999 - we did an Alaskan cruise up from Vancouver, through the Inside Passage. It was awesome, and horribly spoiling. :) We were on the Ryndam.

Few things can compare to sitting outside on a ship moving through a gorge, surrounded by glaciers. Every bit of noise was swallowed up, and that was one of the most amazingly beautiful experiences I've ever had.
