But isn't the theme song for Friends ("I'll Be There For You") a pop song? Sure, the Rembrandts were a mid-nineties one-hit wonder, but that song was all over the radio back then, and still gets some play today. I guess the question is, was the song written specifically for the show, or did the show just take a pre-existing pop song and make it famous?
