This summer, one of my coworkers was
working in her back yard over the weekend
when she was nearly run over by a driverless
mail truck bursting through her picket fence. It
ran down a couple small trees and then came
to a stop up against the hedges at the back of
the yard.

A wild-eyed, out-of-breath mailman followed
shortly thereafter.

My coworker was flabberghasted, but her
husband had the presence of mind to grab
their digital camera and take dozens of
snapshots, including some of her staring in
numb disbelief at the wreck in her back yard.
She brought them in and shared them with us
the following Monday.
