> The roc feather comes much later. (You have to kill at least three more monsters first.) Unless I'm remembering wrong, you have everything you need for the cross. You can't make it, though, untill right where you need it.

if you go back to the lion & hang around, someone will take care of it for you. You did get rid of the cat, right ?
you should be able to make your cross with what you have. go back & try it again. hope this helps
