One of the neat things about living in a democracy is that even insane people can run for office. In looking over the various propositions up for voting this general election, one Bruce A. Friedemann (whom is running for a State Representative slot for my district) makes his feelings clear. He opposes Prop 304, a proposition that raises state senator's and representative's salary from $24,000 to $36,000 a year.

"These generic, clueless, legislators do not deserve $36,000 for only "100 days" work. (There was a coup d'etat in Dallas, November 22, 1963: CIA killed JFK.) In addition to their salary, they get great medical benefits, >$60 cost-of-living per diem and retirement benefits after only five years! Vote NO on 304!"

According to the Tucson Citzen, Mr. Friedemann "distributes literature that focuses on an alleged conspiracy that led to President Kennedy's assassination. It is not clear - to him or to us - why he is seeking this office."

The newspaper did not endorse Mr. Friedemann.
