Right now, it sounds like you need a mine access card. In order to do that, you need to help out an older gentleman who is suffereng from a high fever. There are three things you need to do before he gives you what you need to get a mine access card.

Two of those revolve aroudn something you do for the old man (but youhave to find a use for the nickel first) and one of them is something you have ato look up and then ask him about.
