If you have two of them you can afford to use one just to see what it does.

One of the big challenges you will face is having a strong enough party to get to Murkon, and still having enough hits to deal with him when you finally get to him.

You don't want any hints on how to kill Murkon, it will seriously undermine your sense of achievement when you finally nail the sucker. By the time you can get to him you should be able to take him out.
