Actually, I believe most people use the 'Recent Messages' option, so even if you reply to a message from page 1, we'll still see it. I don't know what the record is for length of time between posts, but I know Sam's very first post to the forum (now on the old board) still gets occasional replies.

So, the basic answer to your question is: Don't worry about people not seeing your message; most of us will see it.
