FQ2: Can't find pliers!

My inventory is as follows:
16 onions
2 tree branches
small silver coin
silver key
float ring
sap tap
bucket of sap
roc feather
coconut
blue rubber ball
iron support

And I'm stuck on the stupid vampiress. I think I'm supposed to have some pliers to defeat her, but I can't find them anywhere- nobody seems to want my maple syrup or roc feather, either. Could somebody help, maybe?
