FQ2 - arrgh! please help!

Okay, I'm going to post this in the hopes I'll stumble across the answer once I do.
Tree's healed, the dog's been fed, gave the soothsayer enough coins to get the "syrup on the nose" hint (I suspect I know what that might mean, but the option's not open to me). Can't do a thing about the drake or the beefhead.
Bottom line: where the heck is the sword??
