Sometimes when I come back home and see my parents, I meet people who I went to school with. Many of them contributed to the general feeling of misery that I associate with my adolescence, but I can't bring myself to feel anything like hatred towards them. That would just be a waste of my energy and time.

I couldn't care less what they think of me now, or how they remember me. I have ignored people who have come up to me as if we were once friends and tried to start a conversation.

Yes, I'm sure people are capable of change, but I find it insulting that they seem to have wiped five years of abuse off of their conscience and have the cheek to address me like an old buddy.

And as for revenge, well...I could beat someone senseless in the street in retaliation for the kicking I got 8 years ago that still makes my neck click, but what would that achieve? Nothing.

Violence and hatred breed only violence and hatred.
