For the past two years I have kept a gallon jug of water in the trunk just in case the radiator should need water in the middle of nowhere. So far, I've never had to use this water on the road. My question is: Would this jug of water still be ok to use after two years?

Since the purpose of having this jug is to magically prevent your car ever needing water while the jug is nearby, then yes, it will still work perfectly even if you keep it for fifty years. This is a self-monitoring situation, too -- if the water ever *does* become unusable, or evaporate, or leak away in your trunk, or the top gets irretrievably jammed shut, you will know this because your car will instantly break down and require water.

The reason this works is homeopathy, or possibly sympathetic resonance. It's the same principle which makes already-rich people get tax breaks. The opposite principle is how having an umbrella handy prevents rain.
