It was quite a busy day at our University, with everyone trying to enroll themselves on the semester's courses. I had already done that, and had already had lunch. I decided to spend some time online in a computer lab, since I had a dial-up connection at home. Naturally, I came here. I checked the Forum and then entered RinkChat.


> I walked to my office and tried to find out what happened. CNN said a plane had hit the north tower. I thought it was a small plane. Possibly the pilot had a heart attack and hit the most inconvenient thing around.

I think there were only two of us - me and Lynette. We were discussing something not very important, so we might have been temporarily idle.

Then FP came in and announced what had happened. At first I thought it might be some kind of a joke a just didn't get (and blamed my English for that). Then I took a look at cnn.com; they had a picture. Still, I thought it was a small plane. I checked all big news sites in Finland - all were either down or did not have a story about the event. Luckily, Lynette managed to find a newspaper's site that had more information.

In an instant, the computer lab turned into a newsroom. Everyone was gathering information wherever they could get it from, mainly cell phones and the internet, and spreading it to others in the same room. I, myself, decided to go home and watch the events on TV with my grandfather, with whom I was living with at the time. Being Finns, most of us didn't talk to starngers, but every single phone call I heard (and there were a lot of them) begun with either "Have you already heard about it?" or "WTC? Yeah."
