I remember that on that day that I was in my second period class (which was computers so we had access video procectors). I was sitting there working on an assignment, and I just happened to look into the room infront of me and saw an image of what appeared to be a smokestack (later to find out that it was the North world trade center). The teacher allowed us to go over to the other room and watch the broadcast. I sat there and listened. I had absolutely no clue what they were talking about. So I just went on to my next class.

Happened to be my next class was gym. One of my fellow students came in late and told us that the Pentagon was hit. I couldn't beleive it. And the teacher wouldn't let us find out more.

I went on to bio class. Since the tv in that room didn't work very well, we went into the earth science room next door and watched it there. He told us that both twin towers were hit (As bad as it may sound, I thought that the twin towers were something out in Minnesota...come to find out, I was thinking of the Twin cities). I sat there so afraid. I watched as both towers collapsed. No one knew what was going to happen next. I told to a few dozen of my classmates that I was scared to death and that I was so afraid. This was a shock coming from my mouth because I'm the type of girl who is used to playing rough with the boys. I was just so afraid and so confused.

I later found myself in English class where we were allowed to go down to the library to watch it.

Next period, I had a study hall with a history teacher (thank God!). As we watched it on tv, she explained to us who the accused Osama bin Laden was. I was pretty lucky. The year before that I learned about a lot of different religions of the world and different conflicts between them. So I had a good understand (finally!) of what was going on. I felt bad for the freshman, since they had no clue about the different religions of the world like Hinduism and Islam. So they went around the halls laughing about what was going on.

I had history next period. It basically was what I had heard the period before.

After I had math class, I went home and actually talked with my mom about it. We ended up crying so much.

One year later...
I have heard some of the survival stories and some non-survival stories throughout the day today that has brought so many tears to my eyes. I read in the paper about all the deaths. It really got me when I read that on one of the planes that hit the Twin Towers, there was a 2, 3, and 4 year old on the same plane together with some parent or relative. They had no chance to experience life. None of them understood what was going on. The sad part was that the 3 year old was heading home for Los Angeles. It makes me realize that I have so much to live for and that I should live life to the fullest. (Sorry if this part offends anyone, it's not meant to) I just hope that God gives those 3 children another chance at living a life to the fullest on this earth.
